The Zimbabwe HIV Care and Treatment Project (ZHCT) is supported by The United States Agency for International Development in Zimbabwe (USAID/Zimbabwe) through FHI 360. Plan International is working in partnership with FHI 360.The overall goal of the HIV Care and Treatment Project is to increase the availability and quality of care and treatment services for persons living with HIV and AIDS (PLHIV), primarily through community-based interventions that complement the public health sector as part of the multi-sectoral response led by the Government of Zimbabwe (GOZ).

The community nurse is a primary care nurse conducting Testing and Counselling as per national guidelines, documentation of clients in the relevant monitoring and evaluation tools(registers) and ensures complete referrals and linkages to care for HIV testing services in liaison with VHW and other community based health care workers.


  • Nursing qualification, SRN/PCN/PC, Registration with Zimbabwe Nursing Council;
  • Knowledge of National AIDS and TB guidelines;
  • Training and experience in HIV counselling and testing for adults, adolescents and children;
  • Experience in Advanced HIV care and treatment preferred;
  • Preference will be given to candidates coming from the locality;
  • A Class 3 or 4 Driver’s licence.
  • Must be able or willing to ride a motorbike;
  • At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role in an NGO environment;
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment in rural communities
