CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR WARD DEVELOPMENT COORDINATORS IN THE MINISTRY OF YOUTH, SPORT, ARTS AND RECREATION

JOB TITLE : WARD DEVELOPMENT COORDINATORS X 170
GRADE : B5/C1/C2
REPORT : DISTRICT YOUTH PROGRAMMES OFFICER
STATION : WARD (Matebeleland North and South Province districts)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

The Ward Development Coordinator is a member of staff in the Ministry stationed at Ward level whose key responsibilities and duties are to:

  • Mobilise the community for Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation programmes in the ward
  • Assist in identifying Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation programmes and projects in the ward
  • Disseminate information on Ministry’s programs and projects for Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation
  • Coordinate the development of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation projects at ward level
  • Maintain a disaggregated participant data bank for Ministry’s programs on youth issues.
  • Attend local, ward meetings, seminars and conferences on youth matters
  • Organise, promote and coordinate Ministry youth programs and projects
  • Compile activities plans and prepare regular reports for submission to District Office
  • Liaise with school authorities on various Ministry Programs at Ward Level for various sport codes and genres.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • At least five (5) O’ Levels
  • Professional Qualification Certificate in Social Science/Arts will be an added advantage
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to write reports
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information

ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLICATION

  •  Applicants should be registered with the Public Service Commission or National Employment Service Department (NESD) and should be residents of respective Districts.
  • Youth Officers who were retired in 2018 on abolition of office cannot be considered until they have served ten years.
