Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the posts of 2 x Accounts Clerk which have arisen in our Finance Department at M.E. Charhons (Harare), a division

The Job

Reporting to the Assistant Accountant, the successful applicants will, among other key aspects, be responsible for:

  • Providing accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
  • Maintaining and reconciling cashbooks to bank statements.
  • Typing, preparing, filing and maintaining payment documents and records.
  • Preparing bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements.
  • Printing and filing of month end reports.
  • Processing receipts and payments into Sage 1000 including capturing bank statements.
  • General Ledger analysis for tax purposes, i.e. VAT and Income Tax.
  • Preparing loan reconciliations.
  • Requesting bank statements from banks.

The Person

The ideal applicants should possess the following minimum qualifications and attributes:

  • Degree in Accounting or any other relevant qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years related work experience.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • High levels of accuracy.
