Job Description
As Depot Operator, you will be responsible for the following activities:
Safety Management
- Assist in implementation of One Maestro principles adapted for the depot operations
- Report anomalies, near misses and accidents for the depot
- Carry out Safe to Load for every trip daily (lubes and fuels trucks), report findings immediately
- Conduct 2 HSE inspections per month on works in the depot to ensure Golden Rules compliance
- Participate and attend depot Safety Meetings every month
- Participate in depot emergency drills every month
- Ensure good housekeeping of the depot, inspect on a weekly basis
- Conduct depot opening and closing, report to Depot Manager
- Secure and ensure integrity of all tanks, piping, loading and unloading points on the depot
- Ensure loading / offloading procedures with respect to truck loading / offloading at loading and offloading bays including enforcing set safety procedures at all times.
- Carry out inspections on critical depot equipment at set intervals
- Evaluate, assess the security and integrity of all movable and immovable equipment, before and after usage, on the depot and take corrective measures where anomalies are observed.
Stock Management
- Dip storage tanks as per tank guaging procedure
- Offload / load trucks / wagons as per set procedure
- Issue lubricants for Bulawayo warehouse to customers or delivery trucks daily, respecting FIFO
- Receive lubricants for Bulawayo warehouse from delivery trucks daily
- Ensure good stacking and proper storage of lubricants for the depot
- Identify, segregate quarantine, report to supervisor all findings (source, quantity, product)
- Communicates with Depot Manager on stock issues (restocking and de congesting the warehouse)
- Conduct stock count for lubricants weekly
- Conduct the daily invoice/delivery reconciliation process, ensure POD’s are returned report to supervisor

It has posed problems like product shortages and funding challenges thus disrupting the smooth operations of business.
Candidate profile
- 5 Ordinary Levels (including English and Mathematics)
- Previous work experience
- Forklift driver’s license
- Must be physically fit to do manual tasks
- Must be computer literate

These are two positions both on 12 months Fixed-Term Contractss. One position is in Harare and the other is in Bulawayo.
