Job Description
The Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) is the country’s investment promotion agency, responsible for promoting and facilitating both local and foreign investment in the country. It came up as an integration of three investment authorities, which were previously housed in different Government Ministries and Departments. The promulgation of the ZIDA Act, which repealed the Zimbabwe Investment Authority Act; the Special Economic Zones Act; and the Joint Ventures Act, provides a clear and comprehensive legal and regulatory framework for conducting investment activities, by both domestic and foreign investors in the country. ZIDA operates a One Stop Investment Services Centre (OSISC), which provides investment services ranging from investment analysis, company registration, tax registration and clearance, licencing, connecting to all necessary utilities.
PURPOSE:
Coordination of local and international investment promotion events to promote Zimbabwe’s priority sectors
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares and presents annual inward and outward mission implementation and budget plans for specific markets and sectors
- Liaises with Special Economic Zone developers in crafting marketing and promotion plans and missions
- Facilitates the collection of data, project and promotional materials for development of investment guides and sector brochures, videos, and social media content
- Collaborates with other departments to develop sector, regional and international annual promotion plans
- Develops local and international investor databases for targeted mission outreaches
- Builds relationships and networks with potential local and international investors
- Undertakes relevant research initiatives to identify and develop Investment Ready Projects
- Updates investment prospectus and project proposal information databases as and when necessary
- Engages and regularly interacts with key investors and contracting agencies in different sectors
- Provides support and input into development of relevant investment policy framework
- Attends and participates in relevant investment promotion forums
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, Finance, Business, Marketing or related field
- A Master’s Degree or Project Management Certification is desirable
- Fluency in English, Shona or Ndebele
- Proficiency in a foreign language such as French, Chinese, Spanish, Russian or Arabic is an added advantage
- At least 2 years work experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills
