Job Description

ZINGSA, a statutory body established in terms of the Research Act (Chapter 10:22), is searching for suitable and qualified candidates to fill the following posts:

 Junior Scientist- Space Science Department x 3

Responsibilities Summary:

• Conducting scientific research in space science and applications for ZINGSA that will increase the understanding of the earth’s solar system with emphasis on Solar Physics; Astrophysics and Space Weather.

Qualifications and Experience:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics with speciality in one of the following areas: Space Physics; Geophysics; Meteorology and Climatology.

Junior Scientist- Space Engineering Department x 3

Responsibilities Summary:

• Providing Engineering services to ZINGSA programmes and projects.

Qualifications and Expertence:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with speciality in one of the following: Electronics; Avionics; Embedded Systems; Mechatronics.

 

Junior Scientist- Geospatial and Earth Observation Department x 2

Responsibilities Summary:

• Develop and implement national Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation strategy with emphasis on developing applications in remote sensing, image processing and data collection, and geophysical modelling as defined by ZINGSA.

Qualifications and Experience:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Geoinformation science and earth observation with speciality in anyone of the following: Geology; Geophysics; Surveying and Geomatics with practical competencies in big data analytics and machine learning.
