Job Description
Grant Thornton Uganda office is looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and highly qualified Audit Partners; capable of managing all aspects of audit and assurance and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and clients.
Overall role
The Partner will take responsibility for driving success, exploiting competitive advantage and leaving a legacy of a more valuable Firm for tomorrow’s Partners. This will be done by contributing to and implementing the Firm’s strategy.
A Partner will be a leader and a role model of the CLEARR values and guiding behaviours that define our Firm. He/she will inspire our people, clients and our wider communities to be our advocates.
Serve as a service line representative and team cohesion in the Partner Board.
To maintain our strong entrepreneurial partnership ethic, a Partner must collaborate with others and take the initiative to drive the business forward within the Firm’s wide frameworks in pursuit of our shared goals.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Act as an ambassador of Grant Thornton and creates opportunities to protect, maintain and promote the reputation of the firm;
- Develop and implement the marketing plan for the service line to realize competitive advantage, driving leadership in our chosen markets;
- Playing a leadership role in managing and developing our audit department;
- Ensure that audit § assurance department delivers the highest quality of service in accordance with the Grant Thornton Methodolagy;
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge about professional standards, policies and other technical involvement on firm’s audit and assurance quality;
- Have impactful business discussions with clients, demonstrating deep business, sectorial understanding and add value by providing strategic and commercial input to the clients’ business;
- Attract, develop and retain talent;
- Has overall responsibility for maintaining and growing the income and profitability of the firm.
Specific requirements for the position
The ideal candidate should be/have:
- A qualified Accountant and Registered Public Auditor(CPA, ACCA, CA) and must be a member of the ICPAU;
- A Bachelor’s degree In accounting, business statistics, or related field;
- 10-15 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years as audit partner, director or senior manager, preferably with mid or top tier accounting firm;
- Strong leadership skills and have a proven record in building a team with the capacity and capability to deliver;
- Exceptional knowledge of IFRSs and ISAs;
- Excellent project management, lacdership, coaching and supervisory skills
- Proven track record of driving the firm’s business strategy, growing client base, delivering high quality services, and increasing revenue;
- Inspirational leadership with demonstrated ability to empower and develop others;
- Excellent business development and relationship management skills, whilst still maintaining the ability to taka direction from sanior partners and clients;
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
