Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel to fill in the position of Cashbook Clerk for Corporate Office and the successful candidate will be based in the Finance Department, Corporate Office, Harare.

The position reports to Projects Accountant.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for daily capturing of transactions into Accpac Accounting package.
  • Handling Fuel card reconciliation and management of regional bank card funding.
  • Responsible for client order reconciliations.
  • Posting and reconciling cash books for Corporate Office.
  • Preparing bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements.
  • Responsible for petty cash administration for Corporate Office.
  • Preparation and coordinating of payments for Corporate Office.
  • Carry out monthly supplier reconciliations and capturing of supplier invoices.
  • Assist in Inter unit transaction handling.
  • Performing month end processes and procedures.
  • Assist in handling internal and external audit processes.
  • Completion of monthly RBZ TRAS1 returns for Corporate Office.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.

Job Specifications

The candidate should have the following:

  • Degree in Accounts/ Finance
  • Should have Part 2 ACCA or CIMA / Part C CIS
  • 2 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of Accpage Sage 2016 will be an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and accounting procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Aptitude for numbers and ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.
  • Should be well groomed, dependable and a team player
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Organizational commitment and dedication.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
