Job Description

We have been retained by our client in the Tobacco industry to facilitate the recruitment and selection of self-driven and competent personnel fill the vacant position of Field Officer that has arisen within their organization.

PURPOSE OF POST

The purpose of this job is to oversee external locations where company project activities occur.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Identifies and conducts trainings on Agriculture, Value chain development and non-farm livelihoods to targeted communities.
  • Inspects delivery sites to ascertain the appropriateness of contemporary conditions.
  • Participates in regional crop assessments exercises, agricultural input and product price, supply and accessibility surveys and report accordingly.
  • Enforces compliance on statutory measures on registrations, marketing procedures, records, returns, pest and disease control and forging market linkages of farmers with buyers, contractors, traders and processors.
  • Collects samples where possible, for subsequent inspection.
  • Imputes data into suitable software and then arranging this to facilitate analysis.
  • Updates expertise by employing a proactive approach to learning

JOB RELATED ATTRIBUTES

The ideal incumbent must possess the following qualifications, competences and experience:

  • An agronomy degree.
  • Prior experience in the agricultural sector is required.
  • Easily accessible
  • Two years or more of experience in a comparable capacity.
  • Must be an expert in motorcycles.
  • Excellent capacity and program development skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and statistical skills.
  • Outstanding relationship and management-building skills.
