Finance Manager

Job Description

What the job entails:

• Managing the finance accounting functions including fixed assets, treasury, accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare monthly and Quarterly malmanagement reporting
• Responsible for the preparation of financial statements in accordance to ZSE requirements and the management of External Auditors
• Documenting and reporting the company’s financial transactions within the intergrated system in order to ensure that the numbers are properly accounted according to IFRS and LHARP
• Managing accounts payables and receivables of the company , ensuring the process is being performed professional and timely
• Coordinating the department’s budget and five year planning
• Providing leadership and supervision to the General Ledger, Accounts Payable /Receivables, Treasury and Tax sections
• Ensuring compliance of all department activities with the requirements stipulated in the company code of conduct including all stipulated internal control processes and procedures.
• Ensuring clear accountability in the department through effective administration of the performance management process
• Performing regular checks on the financial data within the accounting system, reconciling with the necessary supporting documents to ensure prudent reporting
• Establishing and enforcing adherence to a standard financial reporting schedule in line with the Group’s reporting cycle.
• Managing and reviewing all cash receipts to ensure proper and accurate recording
• Regularly communicating accounting policies , standards and other relevant accounting information to colleagues and subordinates for implementation
• Implementing recommendations from internal and external auditors
• Coaching, mentoring and proposing relevant training for staff within the department to enhance their performance
• Ensuring completion and approval of accurate monthly reconciliations
• Coordinating and supervising monthly end of period closing activities in line with the company’s reporting cycle.
• Communicating and enforcing adherence to internal controls across the business

Position requirements:

• An Accounting/Finance degree or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualification in finance such as CPA,CIMA,CIA or CMA
• Minimum of five (5) years relevant working experience in accounting and financial reporting as a manager within a Multi-National Company involved in mining, manufacturing or similar industry.
• Big 4 Experience will be a plus
• Knowledge of IFRS
• ERP experience
