Job Description

Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified persons to fill in the vacancy of FINANCE MANAGER that has arisen in the Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drives the financial strategy of the business.
  • Manages the company working capital through efficient deployment of financial resources.
  • Ensures accurate and timely cash forecasting.
  • Monitors daily accumulation and reports on the financial performance of the Business Unit.
  • Implements and executes robust financial systems of controlling receivables and payables.
  • Ensures timeous production of company financial statements, monthly management reports, ExCom reports and board reports.
  • Monitors and checks the quality of reports generated for Management and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures financial reports are compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Develops and reviews financial policies and procedures in line with business requirements.
  • Undertakes and reports on special projects as agreed with the Supervisor.
  • Coordinates the development of the budget and monitors its implementation.
  • Translates departmental strategies into financial information and monitors performance.
  • Manages the business’ costs to ensure business sustainability and profitability.
  • Reviews capital expenditure proposals for viability.
  • Drives the performance of the finance team through training, mentorship, goal, and target setting and leadership provision.
  • Plans and co-ordinates the annual audit including preparation of audit files and schedules.
  • Attends to audit queries and provision of management responses and actions.
  • Ensures timeous submission of statutory returns and payments i.e. VAT, Income tax, PAYE and QPD’s.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting or Business Finance, ACCA or CIMA or any equivalent qualification.
  • 5 years’ experience in the accounting field, at least 2 years in a managerial position.
  • Highly experienced in statutory returns (VAT, QPDs and Withholding tax & PAYE}.
  • Experience in listed companies is an added advantage.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
