Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel to fill in the position of Front Office Systems Administrator and the successful candidate will be based at Corporate Office.

Job Summary

To provide support to the Loss Control/Front Office Systems Manager on design, write and take care of computer database systems, so that the right person can get the right information at the right time. Work with database software to find ways to store, organize and manage data. Identify user needs, set up computer databases and test systems ensuring that they perform as they should. This job is intended to ensure that accurate information is captured and stored correctly so that reports extracted out of the system are complete and accurate. Data integrity, backup, security and troubleshooting are critical parts of the systems administrator’s job, and these issues are becoming increasingly important. The front office systems administrator should have knowledge and some experience of database management systems such as Oracle, IBM DB2 or MySQL and query languages such as SQL, PL/SQL.

Reporting

The position reports to the Loss Control/Front Office Systems Manager.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Systems user management including creation, deletion and assigning rights.
  • Run daily productivity reports for all units that are accurate and complete.
  • Keep databases up to date with the correct profiles.
  • Merge profiles. Make sure that the profiles are not duplicated
  • Create correct rate and source codes and must be standard across the group.
  • Help with database design and development
  • Manage database access
  • Design maintenance procedures and putting them into operation
  • Ensure that databases meet user requirements (production of correct productivity reports and any other management reports)
  • Liaise with programmers, applications/operational staff, IT project managers and other technical staff
  • Manage database security/integrity and back-up procedures
  • Implement security measures
  • Define objectives through consultation with staff at all levels
  • Write reports, documentation and operating manuals
  • Test and modify databases to ensure that they operate reliably
  • Provide user training, support and feedback
  • Write disaster recovery plans
  • Maintain archives.

Person Specification & Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or equivalent
  • The person should have knowledge of hospitality software such as Opera, Opera Cloud, or any ERP systems or software.
  • Business intelligence reporting tools such as Powe BI, MS Excel and any interactive and visual reporting tools is an added advantage.
  • 3 years or more in the same position or similar.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Analytical abilities to interpret data and track performance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • A tactical thinker and executor with good business acumen
  • Must possess exemplary level of professionalism and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent team leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Should possess excellent planning and organizing skills.
  • Maturity, innovation, resourcefulness, and creativity are important requirements.
