Job Description

NetOne Cellular (Private) Limited seeks to engage an experienced and innovative professional to fill the critical role of Head Products, Innovation, and VAS.

Responsibility

The incumbent will report to the Chief Commercial Officer.

Key Job Purpose 

The Head Products, Innovation, and VAS will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of profitable and/or strategic products and value-added services to meet customer needs, achieve competitiveness in the market and position the department as an in-house innovation hub for the organisation.

Principal Job Accountabilities

  • To develop a comprehensive products vision and Value-Added Services (VAS) roadmap that is aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
  • To implement the overall product strategy, that is the framework for the development and management of service products, innovations, and VAS.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of VAS to enhance customer engagement and loyalty.
  • Conduct in-depth market research, customer discovery, and data analysis to identify opportunities for new offerings.
  • Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, iteration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and launch new products and features.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of products and VAS initiatives.
  • Develop & deliver the innovation, roadmap, and daily marketing & product operational excellence of VAS Business.
  • Oversee vendor relationships management, contracts negotiations and delivery of products and services.
  • Make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Supervise staff in the department and ensure staff discipline.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must be a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Post graduate degree will have an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 8 years work experience of which 4 years should have been at a Managerial level preferably in the Telecommunications industry.
  • A proven track record in VAS and hands-on product management/ development, including defining, launching, and optimizing product and services.
  • Experience in building differentiated customer value propositions and product value propositions.

  • Problem-solving skills and decision-making guided by a customer experience focus.
  • Data-driven decision-making and a strong understanding of product metrics.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of market trends and related dynamics and be able to advice management accordingly.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must have good strategic thinking, communication and business acumen.
  • Ability to interpret broad organizational strategy and translate it into innovative, competitive and profitable products and services for the company.
