Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the positions of HELP DESK ADMINISTRATOR which have arisen within the Judicial Service Commission. The Commission is a dynamic organization that comprises of competent and professional staff. The incumbents will be stationed at the Judicial Service Commission-Secretariat.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Help Desk Administrator will assist the Head of IT and Records Management to:

  • Manage queries from system users.
  • Periodically analyse queries and identify gaps that the organisation has to address.
  • Periodically update frequently asked questions for all systems within the organisation.
  • Diagnose issues with computer software, peripherals, and hardware;
  • Run software diagnostic tools and physically inspecting hardware systems;
  • Provide basic computer training to members of staff in the Judicial Service Commission;
  • Install and upgrade hardware and software systems.
  • Test, evaluate, and make decisions about new technology for the business;
  • Support, monitor and maintain the office computer systems and networks;
  • Set up accounts for new call centre and helpdesk system users and devices and assist with password or login problems;
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

COMPETENCE AND SKILLS FOR THE POST

The person must possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a similar field.
  • 2-3 years’ working as a help desk Support, IT Support or a similar role;
  • Knowledge of computer software systems, including databases, office applications, and operating systems;
  • Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills;
  • Advanced knowledge of help desk software and remote-access systems;
  • A high-level communication skills;
  • An ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues;
