Job Description

Applications are invited to fill in the post of Hospital Administrator that has risen at Consolidated Health. The requisites for the application are as follows:

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A Business degree or relevant Social Sciences degree
  • A Public Health qualification
  • Previous working experience in a hospital will be an added advantage
  • At least 5 years post qualification working experience
  • Strong Public Relations and Administration skills are a must

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Spearheads the giving of strategic direction and leadership of the Hospital’s operations for all the Hospital’s departments such as Radiology, Emergency, Dentistry, Optometry, Theatres, accommodation/ in patient, specialist, etc., including developing of high quality business strategies and business plans.
  • Supports community health needs through outreach programs and community education.
  • Engages Hospital key stakeholders e.g. other Health Care Institutions in public and private sector, Doctors associations as they are the key sources of referrals, related service providers such as Medical Funders.
  • Plays an oversight role in materials management i.e. procurement, quality assessment, inventory control, disposal of scrap etc
  • Responsible for financial management i.e. budgets, accounting, managing expenditure and billing.
  • Responsible for all marketing initiatives including marketing products to stakeholders including corporates, medical funds and other service providers.
  • Plays an oversight role in equipment maintenance and performance thereby ensuring that down time is limited. This also includes liaising with suppliers/ manufacturers of equipment and also to come up with service level agreements, as part of Supply Chain Management.
  • Plays an oversight role in drawing up the hospital budget, whilst monitoring expenses and suggesting cost-effective solutions.
  • Provides overall direction to the Hospital operations and being the Chief Public Relations Officer of the Hospital.
  • To be the hospital lead on the Patient Management System.
  • Manage risk factors through risk profiling.
  • Ensures that all medical personnel have valid practicing licences.
  • Adhere to best medical practices and observe the laws and professional ethics of the profession.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information handled in the line of duty.
