Job Description
Applications are invited from experienced, results oriented and suitably qualified persons for the position of Human Resources Manager which has arisen at a large Harare based manufacturing company.
Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer
KEY FUNCTIONS
- Develop, maintain, review, and implement proactive well researched Human Resources management strategies in support of the business in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer.
- Develop and recommend to the Chief Executive Officer, for Board approval, human resources policies and strategies for ensuring that at all levels and at all times the organization has personnel who are equipped to achieve business goals and objectives.
- Provide advisory service to the Chief Executive Officer, senior and executive management on all Human Resources issues and those ofa strategic nature to the organization’s business operations.
- Recommend policy changes and implement transparent, effective, and efficient procedures for staff selection, recruitment, induction, and promotion to ensure hiring and retention of the correct calibre of employees atall levels.
- Devise and drive, in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer and executive management the organization’s succession planning process and staff skills capacitation programmes.
- Manage the job evaluation system and its supporting administrative process.
- In collaboration with the Heads of Division, establish and implement a performance and appraisal system and supporting administrative processes which provide all employees with role clarity and performance objectives in support of the overall business plan.
- In consultation with the Chief Executive Officer and executive management develop the organization’s remuneration and other reward and benefit systems for Board approval.
- Provide and maintain internal labour relations consultancy systems and practices in compliance with the law to ensure harmonious labour relations throughout the organisation.
- Manage the provision of social welfare, health, and security services.
- Facilitate effective communication and mutual rapport with all internal and external stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A degree in behavioral sciences (i.e., Social Sciences or Industrial Psychology) from reputable institutions.
- A business-related post graduate degree (e.g. MBA or MBL) as well as a professional qualification in human resources management.
- At least ten years’ experience of which six should have been in a senior human resource management position in a large industrial or commercial organization.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and |ISO.45001 management systems.
- High level computer literacy.
- Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Team player and ability to work under minimal supervision.
