Job Description

The Human Resources Officer will actively manage the CUZ staff in line with the vision, mission and values of the university. Overall responsibility for CUZ’s Human Resources function and ensuring compliance with relevant rules and regulations of the university and the country, and recommending improvements to the internal Human Resources systems, policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruitment and selection: lead the function by reviewing resumés, pre-screening candidates, administering skills tests, arranging to interview applicants, discussing benefits and compensation, recommending hiring decisions and making the employment offer, and ensuring smooth onboarding of new employees. Lead the function of manpower and succession planning.
  • Manage training and development initiatives and ensure employees feel more engaged and motivated to succeed and keep track of employee performance and engage in job evaluation.
  • Manage and improve communication to facilitate and moderate the employee-employer relationship.
  • Industrial Relations Management, and manage organizational and company culture.
  • Create a safe and inclusive work environment, and ensure operational value adding.
  • Oversee and manage benefits and compensation.
  • Handle conflicts, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • An effective communicator and team player with problem solving skills.
  • A holder of a degree in Business Management and IT/Accounting or a related field.
  • Some work experience is an advantage.
