Job Description

Applications are invited from suitable persons to fill in the position of Human Resources Officer.

Reporting to: The Human Resources Manager

The incumbent should meet the following criteria:

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Social Sciences e.g Human Resources Management or an equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Diploma in Human Resources Management.
  • Corporate Membership of a professional institution such as IPMZ.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience preferably in manufacturing industry.

Other key Attributes

  • Mature disposition.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and customer care skills.
  • Results oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment.

The position entails the incumbent to do the following:

  • Recruits, selects and places new staff after the approvals have been granted.
  • Advises management and staff on correct interpretation and application of the approved Human Resources policies and labor related legislation.
  • Advocate for the best application of HR practices, policies, staffing, development and organizational planning and design.
  • Prepares and maintains up to date, a monthly skills inventory for the company.
  • Carries out quarterly manpower and payroll audits to establish any discrepancies in salaries, allowances and other staff benefits and instates corrective action.
  • Implements approved Industrial Relations improvement programmes.
  • Implements and coordinates the implementation of approved manpower plants.
  • Guides and assists Line Management in the drawing up of Key Result Areas and performance objectives for their subordinate.
  • Manages the monthly payroll process, ensuring accurate information is provided to the Finance team in line with the agreed schedule.
