Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill in the position of LOGISTICS AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER that has arisen in a Mining Company.
Reporting to: The Procurement & Administration Manager
THE JOB
The successful applicant will be, among other key challenging aspects, responsible for: –
- Planning and tracking of logistics, transportation, warehouse and customer services.
- Developing shipment plans as per product availability and request from customers.
- Make sure all incoming supplies are registered and processed in the logistics database as per the SOPs.
- Making arrangements for the transportation of products.
- Assigning duties to the staff so that the deliveries can be made efficiently.
- Maintaining and preparing delivery records for engineers out in the field to ensure timely deliveries.
- Managing training and supervising warehouse personnel.
- Taking important measures for avoiding quality control issues.
- Ensuring the quality of all products is maintained during the shipment period.
- Making sure the stock is sufficient for all new orders and place new orders when required.
- Keeping the customers updated regarding their orders.
- Maintaining and updating the record of orders from customers and suppliers.
- Preparing and presenting logistics reports to senior management.
THE PERSON
The ideal candidates must have the following minimum qualifications: –
- BSc/BA in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or relevant field.
- Proven 2+ years of work experience as a Logistics Administration, Warehouse Associate or a similar role.
- South African Work Permit
- Proficiency in Logistics Software Database or Transport Management System.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead the order processing cycle.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Ability to organize and update inventory records.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
