Job Description
Duties
- Manage day to day operations of the maintenance function.
- Undertake minor maintenance tasks in and around facilities such as minor painting, mending and general handyman duties as needed.
- Undertake regular inspections of all properties/facilities to ensure they are properly maintained.
- Ensure the provision of cost-effective maintenance services to the company.
- Prepare and submit work specifications and cost estimates related to maintenance works to the Operations Director.
- Plan and perform detailed annual maintenance assessments for each property and report upkeep requirements.
- Ensure that there is adequate water supply to all facilities.
- Arrange for site surveys for peg identification and valuations where applicable.
- Supervise and inspect work to be done internally and externally by contractors against specifications
- Liaise with staff and tenants concerning maintenance of properties and attend to repair requests.
- Participate in the evaluation of tenders and provide technical advice to management.
- Aid in fleet management, that is to perform necessary service and or repairs of company vehicles and make necessary recommendations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Journeyman Class] Tradesman in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Diploma in Business Management or equivalent is an added advantage.
- 5 Ordinary level subjects including Mathematics and English Language.
- At least 5 years of post-qualification working experience in general maintenance work (construction, plumbing, carpentry etc.),2 of which must be at supervisory level.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Assertiveness and high bias for action.
- Good at multi-tasking.
- A clean class 4 driverâs license is a must.
