We Are Looking For An Enthusiastic, Self – Motivated And Committed Individual To Join Our Dynamic Executive Management Team For The Position of Managing Director.
Reporting To The TelOne Board Chairman, This Is A Vital Leadership Role, That Will Drive Results, Spur Growth In All The Company’s Operating Units And Increase The Overall Business Performance.
Duties And Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
- Leads, In Conjunction With The Board, The Development Of The Company’s Strategy To Maximize Shareholder Value And Enhance The Positioning Of The Company.
- Contributes To The Overall Company Strategy And Policy Making By Advising Management And The Board On The Strategic Implications Of Its Decisions.
- Directs And Controls The Company’s Operations And Provides Strategic Guidance And Direction To The Board To Ensure That The Company Achieves Its Mission And Objectives.
- Provides Strategic Advice And Guidance To The Board, On Strategy, Policy, And New Initiatives For The Company’s Activities To Keep Them Aware Of Developments Within The Industry.
- Forges Strategic Partnerships And Relationships With Clients, Vendors, Financial Institutions, Investors And All Other Essential Stakeholders.
- Spearheads The Development, Communication And Implementation Of Effective Growth Strategies And Processes For The Business.
Operational Performance
- Establishes Parameters For Expanding The Range Of Products And Services And For Introducing New Technologies In The Business.
- Designs And Reviews Core Business Processes And Creates New Customer Segments, Service Charters And Product And Service Offerings With A View Of Increasing Market Share And Continually Improving Profitability And Service Delivery.
- Keeps Abreast Of All Material Undertakings And Activities Of The Company And All Material External Factors Affecting The Company And Ensures That Processes And Systems Are In Place To Ensure That The Board And Staff Of The Company Are Adequately Informed.
- Develops And Maintains Research And Development Programmes To Ensure The Company Remains At The Forefront In The Industry, Applies The Most Cost-Effective Methods And Approaches, Provides Leading-Edge Products And Services And Retains Its Competitive Edge.
- Monitors Key Metrics To Ensure That Budgeted Deliverables And Key Performance Indicators Are Met.
- Develops Systems That Inform The Business On Financial Performance And Decision Making For All Operating Units.
- Collaborates With Management And Other Stakeholders To Raise Capital And Carry Out Other Business-Expanding Strategies.
- Evaluates Operational And Products Benchmarks Against Local, Regional And International Markets.
Organisational Change Management / Leadership
- Works Effectively With The Executive Leadership Team To Lead Change Across The Organisation.
- Co-Opts The Values And Goals Of Individuals And Groups And Align These To Organisational Goals.
- Builds Teams And Identifies Champions To Energize And Reinforce Desired Change.
- Engages And Introduces Actions That Redesign Organisational Structures, Processes And Systems.
- Challenges Existing Business Frameworks And Assumptions To Achieve Desired Outcomes.
- Drives Change Through Understanding Of Key Internal And External Stakeholders, Changing Business Environment And Key Market Drivers.
Performance Management
- Develops Performance Management Framework For The Organisation To Ensure That It Is Delivering Against Its Performance Indicators.
- Ensures That Systems Of Management Control Are Operating For Work To Be Performed Efficiently And Effectively.
Human Capital Management
- Undertakes All Aspects Of People Management And Development Including Monitoring And Addressing Quality Standards.
- Manages Staffing Issues That Ensure Members Of Staff Are Recruited, Retained, And Developed To Fulfill Their Potential.
- Undertakes All People Management-Related Activities In Accordance With TelOne Standards.
- Drives The Company’s Culture Change Program.
- Oversees Management And Staff Discipline And Ensures Strict Adherence To Approved Policies And Procedures.
Qualification And Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree In Social Science/ Business Management / Telecommunications/ Electronic/ Computer Engineering Or Equivalent.
- MBA / MBL Is An Added Advantage.
- Postgraduate Professional Qualification
- A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Managerial Experience, 5 Years Of Which Should Have Been At A Senior Management Level.
- Experience In The Telecommunications Sector Would Be An Added Advantage.
