Job description
The Markets Manager is critical to EY Zimbabwe’s business performance and supporting the business with strategy execution. The Manager will lead a small team focused on client experience, business development operations (pipeline and sales), go-to-market strategy, tracking performance and improving processes. In this role you will work closely with the Markets Leader, including service line leaders to develop and facilitate strategic discussions during planning process including identifying & activating business needs / priority initiatives, determine key accounts, facilitating account planning processes, co-develop actions and timelines in support of go-to-market activities.
Requirements for the role:
Strategy Planning and Execution:
- Work closely with the Markets Leader, Service Line Leadership and Management Committee to develop strategic plan in-line with local needs and regional expectations, identify and operationalise go-to-market strategy, including the adaptation of regional initiatives
- Develop and operationalise initiatives aligned to the go-to-market strategy as required
- Lead team on strategic campaigns and initiatives in line with the regional strategy e.g executive interface
- Facilitate internal training on pipeline, client experience, go to market and other markets tools
Tracking:
- Track client experience interviews, pipeline and sales performance and draw out actionable insights from available data i.e., pipeline and sales report and client experience interviews report
- Communication and Reporting
- Prepare monthly reports to EY Zimbabwe Management Committee on pipeline, sales and go to market campaigns, client experience results, EY Private and growth opportunities including sharing internal and external insights to help our leadership team be stronger in the market
- Ensure effective use of different communications media and forums to drive key messages about performance
BD Processes:
- Identify gaps in markets capability, processes or practices that hinder commercial performance and initiate improvements to address this. Have a particular focus on underperformance and taking prompt action to highlight issues, supporting the leadership team to address them
- Have oversight on the pursuit process including oral presentation preparations and client experience interviews processes
- Ensure processes and tools are fit for purpose and adapted to drive collaboration and improved performance
- Ensure efficient deployment of best practice approaches including influencing the Zimbabwe
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience in business and/or sales and/or operations/project management capacity
- Comfortability and experience working in a high-paced agile environment directly with senior management and Executives
- A strong ability to prioritise tasks based upon importance is required
- Being able to creatively problem-solve using the resources at your disposal
- Must demonstrate a strong strategic mindset and commercial acumen. Being able to understand the big-picture and translate and articulate this into clearly definable and actionable strategies and tasks
- Ability to work autonomously with little direct supervision
- Sound understanding of local and regional markets and trends
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Bachelor’s/University degree, preferably in a business related discipline
- Previous experience facilitating and shaping business or go to market strategy
