Job Description

Our client, within the mining sector in Zimbabwe, is looking for experienced mining engineers to contribute to the implementation of the Mining strategy in alignment with the company’s long-term strategy, maximizing operational efficiencies, safety, cost management, and profitability. Preference will be given to diaspora applicants with gold mining experience.

Responsibilities

Managing mining contractors to achieve the mining plan
Effective implementation of Capex and Opex
Developing and ensuring daily, monthly, and annual operational and execution plans
Managing mining resources and schedules
Identifying, evaluating and justifying continuous improvement and implementing those initiatives to reduce costs.
Coordinating with Technical services for production planning
Evaluating mining infrastructure and infrastructure budgets
Coordinating daily inspections of contractor operations to ensure statutory compliance.
Adhere and implement quality and safety management systems including but not limited to ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & ISO 9001
Chairing investigations of all incidents in the workplace
Identifying skills gaps and develop training initiatives

Requirements

B.Sc. (Hons) Mining Engineering
Minimum of 15 years’ experience with at least 10 years experience with open pit operations.
Full blasting license
Experience with Gold deposits is essential
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Conversant with mining regulations and requirements
