BAT ZIMBABWEIS LOOKING FOR A PRODUCTION AND MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN TO JOIN OUR TEAM IN HARARE

SENIORITY LEVEL: Non-management
FUNCTION: Operations
SALARY RANGE: competitive salary package+ excellent benefits + market leading bonus
REPORTS TO: SMD Shift Leader
LOCATION: Harare, Zimbabwe

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

• To carry out planned and unplanned maintenance of machines in SMD and to carry out any necessary modifications in consultations with management to ensure efficient performance of the machines and to produce good quality products in a safe environment.
• Carry out major preventive maintenance & overhaul, installations, commissioning, decommissioning etc on all machines within the departments.
• To coach Technical Operators and other trainees on machine operations.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

• Support Production Technicians in attending to any machine breakdowns promptly.
• Carrying out planned maintenance inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Support the operatives to ensure proper machine settings across the factory to ensure good quality.
• Carry out modifications to improve on performance following a decision to do so by the Engineering manager.
• Ensure key sub-assembly spares are available when required and in good condition.
• Carry out machine conversions when necessary.
• Support all Engineering projects such as installations and commissioning of machines.
• Ensure all machine safety systems are in place and properly maintained.
• Log all spares used during machine maintenance and services.
• Inform Shift Leader on any unusual/abnormal occurrences/observations on the machines.
• Coordinate with Operator technician to ensure smooth start-ups and engineering services restarting after power interruptions.
• Work closely with the Maintenance coordinator to minimize and eliminate machine downtimes

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Good understanding of safety in Manufacturing setting
• Ability to understand and adhere to Company EHS Policy
• At least a National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 2 years experience working in a production environment
• Ability to develop and effectively coach/train Equipment Owners and other technicians.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills desired
