VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: No. 1 of 2022

The Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development is inviting applications from suitable qualified job seekers to fill the post of PROTOCOL OFFICER at Head Office in the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development.

REPORTS TO : THE PERMANENT SECRETARY

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in planning, coordination and implementation of itineraries and programmes for the Honourable Minister/Deputy Minister/Commissioners and Permanent Secretary;
Ensure that travel arrangements for the Honourable Minister/Deputy Minister/Commissioners and Permanent Secretary such as delegation list, over flight clearances, Travel allowances, transport and accommodation are in order;
Research, collate and compile data necessary for use by the Department:
Design the Training Module for a Protocol Training Programme within the Ministry;
Maintain records of protocol procedures for use in Protocol Training Programmes:
Facilitate all protocol arrangements for all Ministerial functions:
Liaise with other line Ministries and stakeholders to maintain good rapport and image building.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

A Degree in Social Sciences preferably Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, International Relations, Public Relations or equivalent.
A Master’s Degree in any of the above fields will be an added advantage
Possess good communication and interpersonal skills:
Able to handle sensitive and confidential information;
Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without supervision:
Innovative and meticulous;
Must be a well-groomed and presentable person:
Must be a mature person of integrity and decorum
