Job Description

A leading player in the tourism and hospitality industry is inviting applications for the managerial position of Sales Manager within the Group.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Position reports to National Sales Manager
  • Ensure achievement of Sales Revenue Targets through activating, implementing, monitoring, and directing Sales initiatives.
  • Participate in the development of Sales and Marketing Plan and budget to ensure that they are in line with corporate objectives.
  • Conduct market intelligence to ensure the Group is ahead of competition.
  • Capitalise and utilize Group partnerships and synergies to ensure competitive advantage, including the construction of appropriate sales packages for the different market segments.
  • Thorough advancement of promotions and special offers to the market through strategic selling, encompassing personal and teleselling.
  • Executing and implementing the Group’s Revenue Generation Strategies including but not limited to Promotions.
  • Constant communication with National Sales Manager and Hotel Teams on innovative packages targeted at the different business cycles obtaining in the market.
  • Cross-selling by smooth management of group enquiries in liaison with the National Sales Manager and Reservations Manager.
  • Identification and development of new business opportunities.
  • Production of regular and relevant required reports, not only for Board reporting and performance monitoring but for decision-making by the team and senior management.
  • Cross-selling products and services within Group subsidiaries.
  • Initiating and managing beneficial partnerships to ensure competitive advantage, including the construction of appropriate sales packages.
  • Selling RTG products and services in selected/defined markets.

Person Specifications

  • Holder of a degree in Tourism, Sales, Marketing management.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Zimbabwe market operating in a similar position.
  • Specialized knowledge in marketing and in-depth selling.
  • Knowledge in leadership and motivation
  • Good level of communicating skills and relationships.
  • Fluent in English and any other local language/s.
  • Computer literate.
  • Passion or orientation for Digital Marketing with knowledge or appreciation of booking engines and Online Travel Agents like Booking.com, Expedia, HotelBeds, Travelocity.
  • Appreciation of and interest in Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and channel managers like Knightsbridge, Site-Minder, HotelMinder, Beds24, Room Cloud.
  • Holder of a clean class four driver’s license (with over 2 years of driving experience)
  • Should be a person of unquestionable integrity
  • Strong customer relationship management skills.
  • Result-oriented individual.
  • Articulate and innovative individual.
  • Can work with people from diverse backgrounds.
