Job Description
Vacancies have risen at Nhowe Mission Brian Lemons Memorial hospital for the posts of Sister in Charge. The hospital is a faithful based mission under the Churches of Christ.
Responsibilities
Promotes and maintains professionalism and ethics as well as the values of the mission hospital.
- Articulates the nursing process and nursing care plan.
- Maintains accurate records.
- Conducts staff appraisals
- Teaches and counsels staff and clients.
- Promotes effective communication between all healthcare givers, patients and relatives.
- Provides quality nursing care to patients
- Administers nursing activities in the wards.
- Mentors junior staff and students.
- Organizes and implements orientation and induction programs for new staff in the wards .
- Prepares weekly schedules of duties to ensure that ward coverage and correct hours of work are adhered to.
- Checks on safety and custody of drugs patient care, management activities and recognizes their efforts and potential.
- Motivates staff by involving them in patient care management activities and recognizes their effort and potentials.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in General Nursing.
- A post basic qualification in Nursing or Midwifery.
- At least 2 years’ experiences a senior registered general nurse.
- Should be registered with the nurses Council of Zimbabwe and in possession of a valid practicing certificate.
