Position Summary

The position entails conducting the following activities: baseline data collection, beneficiary targeting, registration, monitoring, working closely with stakeholders during all programme activities, facilitating and monitoring training processes, conducting monitoring activities and writing weekly and monthly reports.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will comprise

  • Registration of beneficiaries according to laid down criteria ensuring exclusion and inclusion errors are minimal;
  • Facilitating Trainings;
  • Working in close collaboration with key stakeholders such as the Development Coordinator, Department of Social Welfare, City of Harare Housing and Community Services Department and relevant government ministries ensuring their active participation;
  • Ensure project related queries raised by beneficiaries are addressed timeously;
  • Consistent Data collection and processing as well as gathering feedback from programme beneficiaries for monitoring and research purposes (including photographs and videos);
  • Drafting and developing internal and external project communications products;
  • Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports and updates to the line manager and performing any other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Crop Science, Food Security, Social Sciences, Urban Planning, Development Studies or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Experience and or any qualification in Permaculture, Fungiculture Organic / Biointensive Farming and or Biodynamic Farming will be added advantages.
  • At least 3 years practical experience in the implementation of agriculture projects for small holder farmers (urban and rural), agricultural extension services, agriculture programming, farmer training and community mobilization and project planning.
  • Ability, experience and willingness to ride a motorbike is a must.
  • Ability to implement tools designed to monitor and improve projects quality.
  • Flexible and able to cope with a culturally diverse work environment and to work with minimum supervision.
  • Fluent in Shona, Ndebele and English
