Main Purpose:

Responsible for supporting the projects team with engineering and technical support for all solar/hybrid projects globally.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Quality Management System Compliance

Key Responsibilities:

DESIGN & ENGINEERING:

  • Required to work with the Project team to design and evaluate PV Projects and Engineering for tenders and/or customer proposals (solar PV and hybrid systems), as per international standards including:
    • Civil and Electro-Mechanical engineering:
      • Design and evaluation of layouts for PV plant, SLDs, Distribution Boards and HSE.
    • Sizing Calculations:
      • Solar Sizing (load analysis), DC, AC Cable sizing, Tray sizing, Battery Sizing.
      • Execute Load and Shading analysis and evaluate the impact on Energy prediction of the Plant.
    • Hybrid energy systems:
      • Design and evaluation of hybrid systems (Solar/Battery/Genset/Grid).
    • Bill of Materials:
      • Preparation and evaluation of Detailed Bill of Materials, Project costing and economic analysis.
      • Cost Estimation of Pre-Awarded & Post-Awarded Project.

PROJECT EXECUTION:

  • Support the Projects team in preparing/reviewing /following up the project program and obtaining information required for satisfying design, procurement and construction requirements.
  • Create, execute and evaluate tenders and RFPs.
  • Select the required components in the most commercial and cost-effective way. Review the design prepared by contractors/consultants as:
    • Construction Engineering Designs such as detail and assembly drawings, design Calculations, Physical Layouts following the mentioned design expertise.
    • Civil and Electro-Mechanical engineering, hybrid system designs and quotations.
    • Electrical Testing and inspection documents.
    • Detailed Bill of Materials, Project costing.

SUPERVISION:

  • Coordinate project execution activities to ensure that projects are implemented within budget and schedule and project site is controlled and managed per internal standards.
  • Through project coordination meetings and other means, monitors progress against project schedules and budgets.
  • Follow up on action plan derived from construction contract dispute resolution meetings.
  • Provide technical assistance, instruction and training to team members
  • Continue to own the project through commissioning and handover

PROJECT FINANCING:

  • Review proposals, keeping track of project finance and costing, highlight deviation

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Higher/Graduate Diploma/Bachelor Degrees in Electrical engineering

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven and progressive engineering and/or project execution experience.
  • Experience in solar and energy projects (battery, hybrid, distributed energy)
  • Experience in grid transmission lines and electrical codes
  • Experience in thermal (gas, diesel etc) would also be beneficial
  • Cost estimation experience

Skills:

  • Fluent English: Fluent written and oral communication skills.
  • Intermediate Spanish: Would also be beneficial
  • Advanced knowledge of: AutoCAD, MS Office, PV Syst, Helioscope, HOMER
  • Ability to execute several projects simultaneously.
  • Setting up new systems and processes
