RESPONSIBLE FOR: SPA SUPERVISOR and ALL OTHER SPA & LEISURE EMPLOYEES.
Applications are invited to fill the position of Spa and Leisure Manager at the recently, newly branded Hyatt Regency Harare- The Meikles.
THE SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB.
The Spa & Leisure Manager is responsible for providing hands on support and guidance to ensure services are provided in accordance with approved brand standards of performance and sequences of service. This includes to manage the department as an independent profit center,| ensuring maximum guest satisfaction consistent with the hotels and Hyatt’s standards, through planning, organizing, directing and controlling the Spa operation and administration.
MAIN DUTIES SHALL INCLUDE:
Operational:
- Ensures through effective supervision that all services offered in the Spa & fitness centre are always available and carried out with the utmost efficiency and courtesy as per the Spa Experience Program.
- Ensure every staff is aware of the job responsibilities, performance expectations, guest service standards, or corporate policies and guidelines.
- Monitors operation to ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, or hygiene standards.
- Ensure the Spa and fitness facility operates successfully and profitable in accordance with set standards.
- Ensure that all the therapy, treatment package rooms are blocked according to the treatment and preference of the guest.
- To review and improve as necessary the operational procedure for the Spa and gym facilities.
- Ensure manning and facility utilization are maximized.
- Ensure the Spa supervisor is aware of monthly budget and service targets.
- Maintain a high profile within the Spa & Fitness Centre by becoming involved with the activities, becoming a model of fitness and health.
Financial:
- Maximizes employee productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests.
- Set annual financial goals, review costs for spa procedures and services and establish budget for advertising, sales campaigns and promotional events.
- Prepares daily, weekly, monthly and annual budget / forecast and marketing plans.
- Monitors all cost and recommends /implements measures to control them in accordance with the annual budget.
Administration:
- Prepares all daily, weekly and monthly reports on all management aspects, to include statistical analysis of participation and use of facilities, market appraisals and evaluation.
Marketing:
- Create promotional and public relations campaigns to raise public awareness and visibility of Spa and its services.
Customer Service:
- Establish rapport with guests in maintaining good customer relationship and handle all guest complaints, request and enquiries on Spa services, whilst following up with prompt feedback.
Other Duties shall include:
- Maintains strong, professional relationships with the relevant representatives from competitor hotels and other organizations.
- Exercise responsible management and behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel management team and Hyatt International.
- Responds to change in the Spa function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
The successful candidate:
- Hotel management Degree/ Diploma or relevant qualification
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in a similar position
- An overflowing passion for people
