Purpose of the job

  • The purpose of the Treasury Sales dealer is to initiate, grow and maintain profitable client relationships with the bank,
  • To grow the foreign currency income increasing the number of clients who buy and sell foreign currency-based products, through mobilisation from Corporate, SME and Retail clients.
  • Close liaison with existing clients as well as looking for new customers, with emphasis on identifying customer requirements and assisting the Bank in establishing profitable solutions to these requirements in a changing economic and regulatory environment.
  • Executing agreed strategies in funding, trading, investing, and dealing activities.
  • Identification of service deficiencies and provision of solutions to improve customer satisfaction.

MAIN FOCUS AREAS

SELLING TREASURY PRODUCTS TO CLIENTS

  • Identifying clients who have foreign receipts and those who need foreign currency.
  • Identifying clients who need fixed income products and work with the Trading desk to close the deals.
  • Assisting with managing all currency risks associated with foreign receipts and foreign payments.
  • Creating new relationships that have potential for transactional business, foreign currency trading and meeting the sales budget.
  • Managing and monitoring sales and profit targets based on customer transactional flows.
  • Pricing of foreign currency products for SME and Corporate customers
  • Recommend product development through close liaison with clients and wide knowledge of customer needs.
  • Work closely with Corporate Banking, Business Banking and Retail in the promotion of new FX products.

MARKETING AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Introducing new products that meet the customers’ changing needs by cross selling Retail Banking, Business Banking and Corporate Banking products
  • Communicating with customers and investors on money market and foreign exchange market developments,
  • Providing clients with latest market information such as Monetary Policy Statement Reviews and the Economic Report
  • Increasing volumes of FX by attaining a new client base and maintaining relationships with existing clients,
  • Providing resolutions to customer queries by liaising with Back Office, Corporate, International and Retail departments.
  • Grow customer loyalty through personal interaction with clients.
  • Visiting customers and participating in the clients’ activities.
  • Participating in Corporate bodies such as CZI, ZIMTRADE, etc.
  • Providing timely reporting of all treasury operations through the weekly BD Report, monthly Treasury Report and quarterly Board Paper.

QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • A commercial Degree
  • IOBZ
  • Proven experience in sales or banking operations.
  • Proven experience in onboarding new SME and corporate customers.
  • Proven experience in customer relations.
  • Knowledge of the Treasury and banks products.
  • Knowledge of the Money Market and FX Market.

  • Detailed understanding of the full range of the Bank’s products and services including structured finance and syndications.
  • Treasury qualification – Comprehensive knowledge of treasury products.
  • Knowledge of the Money Market and FX market.
  • A wide range of contacts within the money market and FX market.
