Job Description

The Community Water Alliance (CWA) is a grassroots-based Civil Society organization that does work on WASH (water sanitation and hygiene), Environment and Climate issues. The organization works through the following program areas: civic education; monitoring and observation; information dissemination; capacity enhancement; hardware intervention, research and advocacy.

Objectives and targets

The main objective of this assignment is to design, develop and implement a public-facing website as a custom-made web portal and content management system for Community Water Alliance. A website that will support integration with the information on three program areas namely WASH (water sanitation and hygiene, environment and climate issues in Zimbabwe. This will be achieved through development of an interactive website integrated to social media platforms. The website should display the content in a more organized, attractive and user-friendly manner. The interface should be approved and endorsed by the CWA Information Department. The consultancy has the following objectives: Developing and designing a website that is convenient for running business of an organization; Developing customized emails suitable for an organization.

Scope

The consultant is expected to carry out the following core activities and to align the following:

Web designing and development;
Developing customized emails;
WhatsApp integration on the website;
Social media Channels integration;
Map integration on the website;
SEO;
Register my business.

Expected output / deliverables

The key expected outputs/deliverables of this exercise will include:

Developing a functional, interactive and user-friendly website integrated to social media channels;
Providing support and maintenance:
Administrative and technical support, quality control for a period of 6 months;
Customized emails;
Map integration on the website;
Register my business;
Search Engine Optimization (SEO);
WhatsApp integration on the website;
Developing a user manual and deliver a training for the support staff and system administrators to perform content upload, system maintenance and administration;
Source code handover: Full source code including all developed libraries shall be handed over to CWA.
